Larry and Cathy Dorfman
Larry Dorfman is the Founder and ex-Chairman and CEO of APCO Holdings, Inc., an Atlanta based company that Cathy and Larry founded with family and friends in 1984 that delivers the EasyCare, GWC, MemberCare and Covideo brands in the automotive business. APCO was created on the premise that the negative connotation that was so readily associated with the automobile industry needed to change. Eager to improve the consumers’ car buying and ownership experience, Larry and Cathy set the stage for a business that has become a consistent Top 100 Company to Work for nationally, enjoyes 90%+ Employee Engagement scores, is a Healthiest Place To Work in Atlanta and Nationally, and advocates for consumers in the automotive retail industry.
Cathy retired from APCO in 2005 and created Process and Solutions Resource, Inc. to consult with companies looking to improve their overall efficiencies and drive customer satisfaction. Larry recently stepped up from the Chairman/CEO role at APCO to an Advisory role so he could spend more time with family and engaged in other interests. When they are not working they spend their time together with their five children and their partners, and four grandchildren engaging with a few select charities they support thru their Curran-Dorfman Family Foundation. They have extensive Non-Profit engagement having served on the board of Hands On Atlanta, Usher 2020 and Inner Strength (Larry as Executive Director for several years) and contributing to others they are passionate about.
Nicole joined Hope thru Soap in 2019 as the Outreach Coordinator.
She also is a freelance Consultant for In-Spire You, Home Staging & Redesign. She works exclusively with clients to develop an action plan for staging/redesigning their home; provide concepts and solutions consistent with client’s needs; prepare detailed report with recommended changes to existing space; source local suppliers to select cost effective products and foster relationships with vendors; problem solve and project management to ensure all work gets completed on schedule. She was also a Client Service Associate for Invesco Advisers working directly with the division CEO, Managing Director and investment accountable for the reporting requirements, deliverables and communications of approximately 78 top tier institutional and retail client relationships, including the division’s largest client ($1.2 billion). When Nicole is not working, she is enjoying traveling with her husband, Wayne and spending time with their three children.
Wayne is currently the CEO of GiveHub. He develops high quality business strategies and plans to ensure they align with short-term and long-term objectives. Wayne oversees all operations and business practice to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
Waynes background includes Executive roles in technology, distribution, and import/export. Wayne has previous Board experience with Angels in the Dark. When Wayne is not working, he enjoys traveling with his wife, Nicole as well as spending time with their three children.
Jason is currently the CEO of CINC. In Jason's role as CEO he is responsible for the development of human capital, client satisfaction and the overall revenue growth and profitability of the company. Jason's background is primarily in the technology arena, where he has worked for some of the fastest growing companies in the country. Prior to joining CINC, Jason served as the VP of Sales at ThomasNet and was the Senior VP & Group Publisher at Best Media Group. He also worked at Headhunter.net (acquired by CareerBuilder) and KnowledgeStorm (acquired by TechTarget). Jason is married to Maggie and is the proud father of three daughters, Reese, Reagan and Riley. He is a graduate of the University of Memphis and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising.
Megan VandeBogert is the Executive Director of Hope thru Soap. She has lived in Atlanta for 33 years. She is originally from Wisconsin but views Atlanta as her hometown. With a career in Human Resources and Organizational Management she brings a background of Employment Law, Organizational and Business Project Management, Event and Meeting Management, and Outreach Coordination to Hope thru Soap. She has a bachelor’s degree from Oglethorpe University in Organizational Management as well as holds certificates in Grant Writing, Advanced Grant Writing and Non-Profit Management.
For the past 20 years Megan has served in a volunteer role with various organizations focusing on homelessness and hungry children in the Atlanta area. Megan joined Hope thru Soap in August of 2017 as a volunteer and in January of 2019 was hired as the Executive Director for Hope thru Soap. Megan reports directly to the Board of Directors and her responsibilities to the organization include Fundraising/ Grant Writing, Partnership and Program Development, Business Engagement/Corporate Sponsorships, Strategic Business Planning, Management of Hope thru Soap’s KIDZ Program, Operations Management and Volunteer Management.
When Megan is not working, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Jason Winter (Founder of Hope thru Soap) , her two children and their pets. Jason and Megan have 6 dogs and 1 cat! Megan and Jason attend as many local concerts as they can in Atlanta. They are both huge fans of live music and love our cities venues.
Jason Winter is the founder and CEO of Hope thru Soap. He is a native to Atlanta. With a career background in management and sales, he brings a knowledge base of business management, sales, marketing and social media marketing. When Jason is not working he enjoys grilling on his Kamado Joe as well as spending time with family and pets. Since 2014, Jason has served with other organizations focused on feeding the homeless until he created the nonprofit organization Hope thru Soap in 2016. Jason saw the need in the homeless community that it’s hard for people living on the streets to have the basic necessities that most take for granted. He had an idea of not only bringing hot showers to them...but also to provide haircuts, clothing and food. Jason believes that hygiene is the number one thing that allows us to interact with one another. When you look good, smell good and feel good...there’s nothing in your way of carrying a conversation with others. Jason has built relationships with those we help and calls everyone on the streets a friend. He has one mission...hoping to make someone’s day better than the day before.
